Hello, and welcome to this week’s blog post for my senior project course. This post may be uninteresting to most readers, as I’m unsure what to write about, and I’m just putting words on the page to break through my writer’s block. Creative writing is not my strong suit.
It’s been a challenge to find things to write about in this course. My writing style is concise and practical, so I find it hard to meet minimum word counts on many assignments. For example, my senior project group needed to write a roughly ten-page “technical requirements” document the other day. The problem is that our project’s requirements could be well-explained with two concise pages and a diagram. Who wants to read ten pages of mostly fluff?
Regardless of my stance on minimum word counts for assignments, I’m looking forward to improving my writing in this course. Writing at length will take a lot of work without being wordy and including lots of filler content. I’m up for the challenge, though.
