Over my time I have been able to complete a handful of interviews. Most of these interviews tended to be short and for low-level basic positions. For my first-ever interview, I experienced I was very nervous. This was for the position of a busser in a restaurant. He reviewed my job description and what I would be doing on a daily basis, and he described and went into depth about my duties. The interview was structured by asking me personal questions about the experience I have had at jobs or the responsibilities I have had before asking for a position in a busy restaurant. The interview took roughly 30 to 45 minutes. He also conducted himself in a very high manner to let me know that the position, although a busser, was important because it was a nicer restaurant. He built a relationship with me during the interview as well which helped me answer questions and made me less nervous. I would say overall this was a structured interview on how he had his questions prepared. However, there were some things that he did wrong. My interview was not only not in a private setting but in the lobby of the hotel. Although he was attentive to my questions his body language was very different, that could have been because it was a busy day or because we were in the middle of the lobby so he was looking all over the place and not totally attentive. My other interviews have been better than the first regarding where it has taken place, the attentiveness of the interviewer and the types of questions asked. With the first job I ended up doing a lot more than just the job description so he should have been more honest in the interview but the rest of the jobs have been straightforward forward and I have not done anything that was not in the job description.
