Personal Website

Creating a personal website is another personal project that I am looking forward to working on in the near future. This project is actually based off of the personal website project from CS290. For that project, I made a website for my cat Wenli. The homepage had a slider effect that rotated her photos every three seconds and had a text blog of her personality. The website had 4 links with a collection of her photos, links to her social media accounts like Instagram, and a blog section. The website was decorated with colorful buttons and art, and overall the project was a lot of fun building which is why I’d like to revisit it again. I have looked over some cool personal websites people have made where they took up some very cool design choices like a live motion effect in the background to simulate a live beach. Other interesting features are how interactive their websites can be such as buttons that open up a cool feature of their website. Some of these features will be designed around certain themes. For instance, there is a website that has origami-like designs with buttons and scenes opening and expanding like folding origami. These types of designs I find fascinating to implement if I were to work on my own project. How I’d implement them is I’d lean towards the structure and functionality of some of these features and then build on that to make them look good. While I am usually focused on the structural functions of the website, looking at so many amazing designs people have come up with inspires me to branch out and try some of their ideas. The important part then for me is to fit it all together and I look forward to making this project someday soon.
