It’s hard to believe it’s 3 weeks into the quarter! I have a feeling the last few weeks will be incredibly busy so I’m trying to enjoy the little free time I have right now. I’m taking 2 classes as well as working full time. It’s inevitable it will get really busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’ve already warned my friends and family that I may disappear in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the classes is the Capstone project and I’m really looking forward to getting it finished. I chose a company sponsored project: Custom scripts containerization for the Research laboratory notebooks. This project initially drew me in because it is exactly what I would like to pursue next. I love the idea of being able to use all of my lab experience to help lab workers have more efficient lab notebooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I also have some experience being the client in this situation. One of my major projects at my current job was to work with an outside company to develop a custom lab notebook for us. Our workflow is designed in such a way that there was no easy way to record all our data. We also needed a tool that would connect to the other analysis tools we used. Working with this company let me get more familiar with the development process and associated documentation. I learned what User Acceptance Testing is and I was able to provide a lot of feedback to the UI designers. It really solidified that the path I’m currently pursuing is right for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
