My “Brand” is being a Samoan female student-athlete. When potential employers encounter me, their first impression is typically one of curiosity and interest in my capabilities. My strengths lie in my ability to to be coachable, a respectful and easy going athlete, and especially hard working. I’m also a great teammate that others are not afriad to open up too and is able to have a great relationship with not only my teammate.
However, like any other person, I do have limitations. One of my weaknesses is that I may be inconsistent with my performance on the field and my energy is not also at its peak. Another weakness is that I when it comes to being under pressure I am not also confident when I need to do my job. Even with others if I do not perform well I do not give feedback to others afterwards because I feel it is not my place.
What sets me apart and makes me unique is my constant positive attitude towards any situation. Even on my bad days I am able to still be a team sport and be a coachable athlete.
If I were to present myself to public in an ad I would try to first get the attention of the right people. For example coaches that are recruiting for new potential athletes. In my case if I were to transfer or I am trying to commit somewhere else I would first email the coaches that I am trying to impress. I would show them a short clip of my strengths physical on the field and even on paper show them my grades in the books. Next I would right down my strengths while sticking recommendations from my previous coaches on how I am as a player. If that works out then the next step is a phone and I will try to advertise my interpersonal skills through the phone. If they hear and see that my strengths are great then my weaknesses then it can be in my favor. Not only that I have reliable people to back me up.
