I’m not particularly fond of talking about myself, and if I were to dedicate a blog solely to my dog, I would likely still be writing past the end of the semester. My dog is the best, and I’ll fight you about it.<\/strong> For my first blog post, I’ve decided to shift the spotlight away from my furry friend and focus on a project that has as of lately been taking some of my free time.<\/p>\n

This project actually started during my time in the Google UX Design Certificate program, and I also picked up some valuable insights from the Usability Engineering course at Oregon State University along the way. While this case study primarily aligns with the principles taught in the Google UX Design courses, it will eventually take a different course, as my aim is to embark on the development of a tangible iOS application. The overarching objective of this undertaking is twofold: to enhance both my programming and UX design skills, driven by my aspiration to aid individuals, much like myself, in establishing enduring, healthful habits while sidestepping the pitfalls of excessive habit-planning without execution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Unofficially dubbed “Hello Habits”, the project derives substantial inspiration from the book titled “Hello, Habits: A Minimalist’s Guide to a Better Life<\/span><\/a>” by Japanese author Fumio Sasaki<\/span><\/a>. Sasaki’s book has had a profound impact on me, leading to some significant changes in my own life. Consequently, this played a significant role in shaping the design and features of the app, many of the app’s design elements and features have been influenced by the teachings encapsulated within the pages of his book.<\/p>\n

While substantial effort has already been poured into transforming this concept from a mere idea into a tangible UX concept, there’s still a considerable journey ahead. I’m fully aware that the realm of app development will pose its unique set of challenges, but I embrace them with the hope that they will serve as stepping stones for my growth as both a developer and a UX designer.<\/p>\n
