After completing the questionnaires provided, I was able to learn how I handle stress and get an idea of the amount of stress I am dealing with as well. I am at an above-average stress level at the moment, according to the Life Stress Inventory survey, which has made me concerned and prompted me to take certain steps to keep my stress levels down and avoid future health problems. Being impatient is another concern that became known to me after completing these surveys. I learned I need to remain calm more often when plans might not be going as I might have anticipated, in the timeline I imagined them occurring. It was interesting to learn about the different techniques on how to cope with stress and help reduce the amount of stress that sits with us long-term. After conducting research on these techniques, I find the most beneficial and interesting types to be exercise, diet, and meditation. Exercise proves to be a great resource for relieving tension and stress in a positive manner. A healthy diet helps reduce the physical level of stress in the body and meditation helps the mind remain calm and bring stress levels down in times of high stress. One method for fast-acting stress relief that I’ve used myself in the past is deep, slow breathing techniques that help calm both the mind and body to help act out in an out-of-character manner that is unprofessional or unfriendly. Having the ability to use these techniques can be vital when experiencing stress in the workplace and in our personal lives with friends and family.
