Week 7 – Blog Post: IPIP Results & Reactions

The personality I got on the test was type 1 The Reformer and is closely related to a perfectionist. I need to learn more things in order to become the ideal perfectionist hence the reformer part. Saying that I am aware of my flaws and understand what I need to do in order to be my ideal self. That I typically have an eye for the finer details and will improve till I meet my perfect criteria. I also have a tendency to hide my emotions and listen to more reason and results then how I feel emotionally.

A potential employer reviewing my Enneagram Type 1 results would likely see a number of strong qualities that make me a valuable and dependable employee. As a Reformer you are responsible and committed to doing things the right way. The attention to detail creates drive for improvement, and strong sense of ethics makes me a reliable team member who consistently strives for excellence. The high standards of a Reformer make me a natural leader in quality control and any role that requires discipline and precision.

However, an employer might also recognize a few challenges with my type 1 Reformer approach. Since it closely mimics a perfectionist I could be overly critical in some areas and over work myself to achieve the perfect results. Additionally Type 1s tend to suppress emotions and view emotional expression as weakness I may find it difficult to show vulnerability or connect on an emotional level with fellow work colleagues. Over all I believe that the pros outweighs the cons and the employer would see my value in other aspects then what a test results says.

Hello Jesse,
I did the same test as you, and got a type two personality score. It is really interesting to see what a type one personality is like. I think something that you and I have in common with our personality types is that we both struggle with our emotions. With type two, we have a hard time saying no and want to please people in order to feel validated. During covid era, I worked really hard on finding my boundaries and learning how to say no. What are some things you do to help combat your flaws?
