Self-Reflection

By Hunter Krupka

What Am I Good At?

I believe that above all, I am good at forging and maintaining relationships. I consider myself a people person, and enjoy the company of others. I enjoy gaining new insights from the interactions that I have with these people, and I feel good when I am able to help them in some way. I am never hesitant to start a conversation with another person, even if they may not act like me or share any of my opinions. After all, I believe that one of the best ways to grow and develop as an individual is through uncomfortable situations or cordial conversations with people who have different viewpoints than my own. Additionally, I believe that I am exceptionally good at persevering. When I face a challenge, I rarely give up and will dedicate my time to ensuring I overcome it.

What Do I Value?

Being good at relationship building is of no use to me unless I value said relationships. Even when I don’t have any significant gains from a relationship (money, status, etc), I still value it nonetheless as there are many different things a relationship can do for someone. As I mentioned in the previous response, I value the opportunity of growth and development that relationships offer, both for myself and for others. Ultimately, I value the ability to grow and expand my knowledge and skills, and I value helping others do the same.

How Do I Get There?

I got here through hard work and dedication. I know it sounds tacky, but when I consider all my past accomplishments, it becomes easier to see all of the effort that I have put in to meet these accomplishments. It was all this effort as well as the perseverance that has helped me overcome challenges has shaped and developed me into the person that I am today. With that being said, I believe that even more than my own effort is the people that have helped me along the way. The people that I have relationships with have taught me all of the things that I know, no matter how simple or how advanced.

Where Am I Going?

Right now, I am headed towards being what I consider to be successful. Maybe not hugely wealthy by any means, but certainly successful in the sense of being content. I already have tons of people around me that I care for and who care for me, and every year, this network of individuals grows. Additionally, if I keep working hard, I know I’ll end up in a good job that pays well enough to be comfortable and raise a family. However, if I make no changes and continue on this path, I do see myself struggling to spend the amount of time with my hobbies that I want. All through school and moving into work, I focus so much on these and sometimes let myself wander from doing the things that truly make me feel happy, even if I do get some degree of happiness through activities such as work or school. Moving forward, I want to allocate more time for myself so that I can be even closer to living the best life that I can.
