Great, what a good idea. When you first hear the term and think about the concept it sounds great, but there is a lot to not to like about it. MGs sometimes can\u2019t identify a tree problem via a phone call or email.&nbsp; Our diagnostic skills are limited in that we can\u2019t go to the site to see the tree in person.&nbsp; Photos and the plant\u2019s history can provide a wealth of information, but sometimes seeing the tree on site may be necessary to give a correct diagnosis.&nbsp; In such cases, clients should be advised to hire a Certified Arborist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are a few suggestions on hiring a \u2018Certified Arborist\u2019:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As representatives of OSU, Master Gardeners don\u2019t endorse a specific business or<br>product.<em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Many commercial companies employ Certified Arborists&#8211;This means that they have passed tests recommended for their industry and have taken part in continuing education to further their knowledge.<em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suggest client search on the internet, \u2018<strong><em>Tree\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>or \u2018<strong><em>Trees\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>or \u2018<strong><em>Tree Service\u2019 <\/em><\/strong><em>in their area<\/em>.<em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then look for statement or logo stating <strong><em>Certified Arborist.<\/em><\/strong><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some companies may charge a fee for an on-site inspection.<em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check to see if <strong>licensed and bonded<\/strong>.<em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage client to get at least <strong>3 estimates <\/strong>before selecting a company to do any work.&nbsp;
