The last time I was an applicant for a job was nearly a year ago when I was applying for a job that I currently have. After I applied for this position I received an email a few days later that contained a questionnaire that included some typical questions that you would be asked during an interview. After I sent back my answers the hiring manager reached out to me to set up a formal in-person interview. When I went into the interview it started out very typical where they ask you the common questions like why do you want to work here, what are your strengths, what are your weaknesses, etc… After these questions, the hiring manager then proceeded to ask me some more questions that were fun such as what animal would you choose to be, if you could be in any movie what one would it be, etc… After this the manager had me go and take a current employee on a tour of the facility and attempt to sell to them because this is something that I would be doing for the job. When I was done with this the manager thanked me for coming in and said she would reach out to me within the next few days. The next day I received a call from the hiring manager and was told that they really liked what I had to offer and would like to offer me the position, and so I accepted the offer and have been working there since.
My experiences while applying for this job made me want the position even more than when I initially applied. The application and interview process showed me that the culture and workplace environment was not only professional, but it was also fun. Being able to do a hands on task such as the hypothetical tour and selling portion of the interview made it much more enjoyable and made me look forward to doing this task for real.

Hi Evan. Sounds like your experience was a good one. And obviously you handled it well by landing the job. Well done! The question about what animal you would choose to be made my laugh- someday I’d like to hear how you handled that one. I don’t think I’d do to well in an interview if I were asked that question.
