When it comes to benefits at work, I came up with a few benefits in our class discussion that are extremely important to me. In class, the benefits that I came up with were health insurance, sick leave, and a retirement savings plan. I believe these are the benefits that every employee should have access to. These benefits help the employee know that they are important to the company and show them that the company is investing in them and their future. It’s very important that the employee feels that they belong to the company and are there for them because it will trigger a lot of benefits for both parties since the employee can engage in behaviors that will also benefit the company. For example, employees who feel that they belong to someplace tend to increase productivity and loyalty. But, after reading our lecture, I decided to add flexible hours and work from home. During covid, I noticed how I could improve my productivity once I could do everything at home. I also saw that I could work better if I know that I have an assignment due on a specific day. I can plan how to manage my time to complete it on time. I also noticed that I’m more productive during the morning because I like the afternoons and weekends for myself. So It’s extremely important to build this relationship between the employer and employee since they are one of the main factors of the company’s success, and that’s why these benefits are really important to me since it will make me know that the company is investing in me and my future and that I’m a valuable asset to them, which makes me be confident about my work and allow me to focus on my performance, increasing my productivity and focusing in improving my professional/ personal life.
