Much of their work involves phytoplankton biodiversity measurements and experiments using an Imaging Flow Cytobot (IFCB) and BD Biosciences FACSCalibur flow cytometer, with a particular interest in phytoplankton taxonomy.\u00a0 Their work has recently expanded into phytoplankton pigment research, particularly utilizing HPLC and chlorophyll fluorometry methods.
