Research Description: I’m currently investigating the synthesis and development of silver nanoparticles with diverse geometries—specifically spheres and triangular shapes. By tailoring their size and morphology, I aim to optimize their optical properties, particularly diffuse reflectance in solution phase. This parameter is crucial for enhancing contrast in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a non-invasive imaging technique widely used in ophthalmology. Through systematic surface modifications—using biocompatible lipid coatings and molecular conjugates—I’m engineering materials with improved reflectance and scattering profiles.
