Research Description: My research focuses on the synthesis of bismuth nanoparticles that have long-term stability to be used as contrast agents for X-ray imaging and treatment of breast cancer. Additionally, I focus on understanding the mechanism of how nanoparticles enter cells and the toxicological implications, especially in non-cancerous cells. This work will lead to earlier diagnosis of breast cancer to reduce patient mortality. I received my bachelor’s and master’s in chemical engineering from Shandong University of Science and Technology where I was studying materials for hydrogen storage.
