Hello!

My name is Sativa Maciel. I am working towards my bachelor’s in Applied Computer Science, focusing on Web Development and Human-Computer Interactions. I currently live in Eugene Oregon, which places me in Pacific Standard Time. 

In my free time, I love to play board games with friends, and I am an avid cyclist and climber. I love staying active and exploring the outdoors as much as just staying in and reading a good book or playing games. 

My interest in computers started when I got interested in building little robots as a hobby, and then programming them. While in school, I started gaining an interest in the visual side of things like front-end development and UX/UI design. 

Currently, I work as a bartender, however, I am actively searching for an internship that will help me learn and progress in the field I am interested in. 

I am not sure if I have a favorite technology, but I think I am always impressed by new technologies that are coming out and the growth of our field. I will say that the new AI tech that is coming out is really cool to see. 

For the senior project, there are many projects that piqued my interest. However, my top interest is the project to Create and Play Board Games. This project seemed perfect because I understand board game mechanics, and have been learning Unity in my free time. Outside of this project, I found the other gamification projects interesting. As a person who struggles with certain mundane tasks, creating a game out of things has always helped and I would love to create entertaining environments for others.
