We have finally hit the end of sprint 2 of our project! It’s kind of crazy to think how fast it has been since the start of the semester. It’s been a hectic two weeks since our last blog post and we’ve done a lot of work on our project. Our group definitely had a bit of a slow and rocky start with development. I think our issue at the time was a lack of direction and organization. At the time, I was also quite uncertain how to approach the situation where I didn’t want to step out of my comfort zone and dictate to our group what must be done.
I definitely felt inadequate in some concepts mentioned for the project and felt anxious on whether I should even be dictating other people to do certain things or how we should navigate our project at the time. Ultimately, I took it slow and took initiative in things I felt comfortable in doing such as certain front end elements or setting up the organization of our project/Trello board. I inserted myself when our team needed guidance or a voice and tried to supply our team with some of the resources needed to succeed.
Over the past two weeks, I’ve tried my best at encouraging discussions, dictating direction on tasks and organizing the structure of our project and communication. I feel that I’ve done an okay job and that I can confidently say that my leadership has created a somewhat decent productive atmosphere for my team members to be able to create a decently developed product. I hope our momentum keeps going and we finish strong where we end up with a project that we are proud of.
