Welcome to my blog. I am Alex Lo and I\u2019m 28 years old currently residing in Oakland, California. I\u2019m not going to lie; I only started this blog because it was required for CS 467, but who knows, I might just end up enjoying blogging. In this post I\u2019m going to tell you why I\u2019m pursuing a CS degree at OSU and some of my hobbies\/interest outside of CS.<\/p>\n

I initially graduated from the University of California Davis in 2015 with a degree in Food Science. I spent the next couple of years doing Quality Assurance in the food industry. It was a decent career choice for a while but every time I ask myself the question if I can see myself doing this for the next 20 or so years, I always answered no. That was a big red flag to me.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
I contemplated different career choices for a while but it always seemed like computer science is what I wanted to do. At an early age, I was interested in computers and learning about the different parts of the computer what each of them do. When I was a freshman at college, I wanted to declare computer science as my major but ultimately decided to do food science instead as I thought I probably wasn\u2019t smart enough to do computer science. This got me thinking, If I don\u2019t try to pursue computer science now while I\u2019m still relatively young, I might regret it for the rest of my life and keep pondering What If\u2026. And that\u2019s how I ended up attending OSU.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Outside of CS, my interests include watching movies\/TV, playing video games, watching sports, hiking, and eating delicious food. I recently got into collecting basketball cards within the last year and was so caught up in the hobby that I was watching sports card videos on YouTube. I also just got back into playing Pok\u00e9mon Go again and would consider myself addicted to catching them all.<\/p>\n
