Hi everyone, the school quarter is almost to an end and it’s time for another update to my capstone project. Just a little reminder, my team is creating the dating app for animal adoption, we are using reactJS on the frontend and nodeJS/ExpressJS for the backend, and we are using google datastore for the database.
Last time, I said we are still working on the google oAuth login and the landing page. Well good news, we created a landing page that shows the news stories and has a welcome message, and we finished the google oAuth login functionality. A user is now able to login to the website using their google account.
One of the things we have left to do is the image uploading functionality. We have the backend code for the image uploading written and now we just need to finish the frontend. My teammate currently working on the frontend and I expect him to finish the code by this week.
One thing we might not get to is the email notification for newly added profiles functionality. We still need to research a bit how to get the emailing aspect working on the backend or frontend before we get a chance to implement it.
Overall, I’m happy with how the project is turning out. At least we are going hit all the major requirements.
