{"id":5426,"date":"2011-09-28T21:47:08","date_gmt":"2011-09-28T21:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wpmu.library.oregonstate.edu\/enews\/?p=5426"},"modified":"2019-01-08T01:18:19","modified_gmt":"2019-01-08T01:18:19","slug":"trial-database-ehraf-archaeology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/libraryenews\/2011\/09\/28\/trial-database-ehraf-archaeology\/","title":{"rendered":"Trial Database: eHRAF Archaeology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/proxy.library.oregonstate.edu\/login?url=http:\/\/ehrafarchaeology.yale.edu\/ehrafa\/index.do?browseSelect=null&amp;topSelect=1&amp;context=main\"><em>eHRAF Archaeology<\/em><\/a> is an online cross-cultural database containing  descriptive information on archaeological traditions of the world and is modeled  after <em>eHRAF World Cultures<\/em>. eHRAF is unique because each archaeological  tradition contains a variety of full-text source documents (books, articles, and  dissertations) that have been indexed and organized according to HRAF&#8217;s  comprehensive tradition and subject classification systems: the <em>Outline of  Archaeological Traditions (OAT)<\/em>, and the <em>Outline of Cultural Materials  (OCM)<\/em>. These retrieval systems extend search capability well beyond keyword  searching thus allowing for precise tradition and subject retrieval, even in a  foreign language.<\/p>\n<p><em>eHRAF Archaeology<\/em> database provides  researchers and students access to archaeological materials for comparative  studies within and across regions.<\/p>\n<p>This OSU Trial runs through 3\/31\/2012.<\/p>\n<p>Please tell us what you think.
