The Internet of Things can connect all objects in a specific space environment, perform anthropomorphic information perception and collaborative interaction, and have the behavioral capabilities of self-learning, processing, decision-making and control, so as to complete intelligent production and services. At present, the Internet of Things is promoting the transformation of human society from “informatization” to “intelligence”, and promotes great changes in information technology and industry. In the near future, the Internet of Things will forcefully change the environment in which we live and work, and bring us into an intelligent world. All objects in the world, from tires to toothbrushes, from houses to paper towels, can actively exchange information through the Internet.
The technical idea of the Internet of Things is “connecting everything according to demand”. Specifically, it is to exchange data through radio through various network technologies and radio frequency identification to achieve information identification, infrared sensors, global positioning systems, laser scanners and other information sensing equipment. All the objects that can be independently identified are ubiquitously connected according to requirements, carry out information transmission and collaborative interaction, so as to realize intelligent information perception, identification, positioning, tracking, monitoring and management of the objects, and build all the objects. An intelligent service environment with human-like knowledge learning, analysis and processing, automatic decision-making and behavior control capabilities.
The information society is developing from the Internet era to the Internet of Things era. If the Internet regards people as the object of connection and service, then the Internet of Things is to expand the object of information network connection and service from people to things, so as to realize the interconnection of all things. There are also differences between the two in terms of demand satisfaction: in the Internet era, the task of the information network is to meet the needs of public information transmission; in the Internet of Things era, the task of the information network is to meet the needs of specific intelligent services, and the two support each other and are indispensable.
