I am somebody who liked to support causes\/organizations that align with my political\/social views, so when an organization that I buy from publicly discriminates, I would tend to dislike the company as a whole. This has happened multiple times with both celebrities that I have followed, and brands that I support by paying for their product or service. While I certainly would not publicly support a company who actively discriminates against any group, let alone a group that I am a part of, I am cynical of most large corporations and like to support smaller brands or people. With that being said, I am currently wearing Nike shoes and have an Amazon tab opened. These are two companies that have been involved in ethical controversies and yet, I still support them with my dollar. The reason for this may be seen as inconsistent or hypocritical, but since these companies are so large, I do not believe that my individual purchases will make any impact at all, so I still choose to buy from them, even though I do not agree at all with a lot of their business practices. Depending on the position, I would still consider working for a massive company that discriminated or made comments that I disagreed with. If I was to pass up on a job, then they would just find someone else, so if I can at least make money by working there without personally compromising my morals, I would be ok with working at a large company like this. If the company was smaller on the other hand, I would feel more of a responsibility to vote with my wallet, since it has a larger impact on the future of the company. I probably would not want to work at a small company that publicly discriminated against a group that I support. I understand if you think that this stance contradicts itself, but I believe that it is a valid one to take.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
If my favorite company was publicly discriminating against a group that I supported or was a part of, it would absolutely change the way that I felt about them.
