1. What am I good at?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am a natural leader, because I possess good public speaking and interpersonal skills. I am able to relate to others very well, and because of this, I can motivate others to work towards a common goal. I am also a very analytical thinker who can recognize the underlying problems of a situation given the context and variables in play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. What do I value?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I value true collaboration first and foremost. I believe that everybody’s primary motivator should be to help each other reach their goals, and an environment that promotes this ideal is perfect for me. I also value a strong work life balance, which makes me lean towards the idea of remote work since I think a balance is far more achievable without a long daily commute to a physical, in-person office. Finally, I value accountability, and everybody contributing equal levels of effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. How did I get here?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three major choices that got me to this point were attending a prestigious private high school, pursuing a career in data analytics, and becoming the president of my fraternity. My high school experience was where I developed my initial ambition since I was surrounded by success and held to an extremely high standard. Pursuing a career in data led me to my second internship where I developed a lot of hard skills and began reading all that I could about analytics and the industry at large. Finally, becoming the president of my fraternity allowed me to flesh out my people skills, take on a larger task than I ever had before, and prove to myself that I could lead a large group of people effectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Where am I going?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will be working a second year internship at a data consulting company this summer. This should put me on the right path to begin my career in this industry after college. In the long term I would like to work for Nike’s analytics division, and I hope that I can lead a team of people while working in the data industry and focusing all of my skills into one role.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
