My name is Mitchell Kealy and I am a Computer Science student at Oregon State University. I am originally from the Midwest but currently live in Corvallis, Oregon (PST) to attend school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I was young, I was very passionate about photography and video games. I often found that photography gave me a good break from school and allowed me to pause and reflect on life thus far. When I was 7 years old, I started using computers as much as I could. It started with Age of Empires but eventually I used it as a way to learn more about the world around me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I was in high school, I got more into computers and learning various softwares, including photo and video editing software. Eventually I became very fluent at the Windows operating system and was learning as much as I could. Part way through high school, I started picking up work at a local IT shop where I learned more about computer networking and troubleshooting common computer issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I took a class in high school about computer science, but ultimately did not like it. Years later, I figured out that I still loved computers but didn’t like the customer service side of IT, so decided I wanted to begin learning how to code. It took a while, but eventually was able to get an associates degree in frontend development from Madison Area Technical College in Wisconsin. After securing an internship, I decided I wanted a formal education in Computer Science, which is how I landed here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently, I am very fluent at Python and do extensive backend work at the same internship. I have experience with many frameworks including Flask, Django, and React. Through the internship, I also gained extensive experience with Jira and Git, as well as Tox and other pipeline tools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking into the future, I want to expand into Data Science and learn more about data, as this directly relates to backend work and would complement each other well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
