During the duration of my project, we have been exposed to many new technologies. Some of these include Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Vertex AI. We have not gotten any opportunities to experiment with Vertex AI yet, as we have mostly just been working on the data itself.
My favorite technology we have used so far is BigQuery. I have taken classes that exposed me to some basic SQL concepts, and BigQuery is an extension of SQL, with some more functionality and some of the monotonous parts streamlined a bit.
I think it’s cool (but sometimes tiring) to go and learn a new language, including learning some of the syntax. I also think that this is great practice, as we as developers will likely need to continue to learn new languages continually down the road.
