Jacob Tresser. Week 9

What am I good at:

Some of my strengths start and center around being communicative and having an outgoing personality, putting a smile on anyone’s face that I encounter. This strength I think is something that revolves around my extraverted personality and when I have a smile on my face, I feel the most comfortable. When I am feeling the most comfortable, I do my best work. When I do my best work I can show that I have special skills that are unique to me, like being there when times get tough, keeping the positive energy and always being there when a teammate is struggling. I am good at being on time for meetings and punctuality is at the core of who I am. I have never been late to a meeting and I need to use this strength when I enter the professional field.

What do I value:

I value being prepared to provide for my future family, when I settle down and start one. I want to make enough money to live and provide for this family comfortably but I don’t want to make too much so that I am unhappy with what I do. I value being able to take vacations and have fun on the weekend with the ones that I love the most. I value being able to have a stable schedule so I can go out and meet with friends and family after I am done for the day. I value working for an organization that appreciates my efforts and rewards me as such, with either benefits or promotions while working for that company.

How did I get here:

What got me to this point is my loving and supportive family who have supported me through my two years at Central Oregon Community College, and then led to me finishing my degree here at Oregon State University. I took business classes at COCC, that led me to have an interest in business in general and that led to taking management classes in which I really enjoyed. I started the management program here after changing my major multiple times but finally deciding on what I wanted to do.

Where am I going:

The future that I am on the path on starts and ends here in Oregon. I love the PNW and my future path is integrated with the PNW, as this is now my 7th year living in the area. If I get a job in the area my foreseeable future is building a family, going on vacation a few times a year and being content with living in a state like Oregon for a large chunk of my adult life. My future also holds so unknowns because I might want to swap companies and try to gain more free-time and benefits for my future family. All in all, I’m deeply excited for my future as now one chapter of my life ends and a whole new adventure starts!
