This was by far my favorite topic so far. Stress management has been something that I have struggled with for the past few years. These stresses have only increased due to the added pressure and difficulty that college bring forward. The benefit of this has been that I have been able to develop skills in order to mitigate the affect that my stress can have on me. Some of these processes include sleep, exercise, and diet. When I don’t sleep it is usually due to stress however this is a double edge sword. When I don’t sleep I get more stressed and am easily irritable. To mitigate this I have found that magnesium helps a lot and also turning my phone off an hour before I want to go to sleep. Another big helper is the gym. When I work out and get some energy out, I feel less stressed and have a sense of accomplishment. Finally, my diet is something that I have been playing around with lately. I do not recommend this for everyone but a carnivore based diet helps my feel and look my best. I think it is important for everyone to find what works for them because my methods might not work for others. Stress can seriously affect your life and relationships and it is important to be able to control it. Find what works for you and keep trying new things in order to feel your best.
