Stress Management

After taking the three stress management/personality tests, I have discovered that I am somewhat of a high stress individual. I realized within the past year I have had to deal with some stressful situations that may affect my physcial and mental health. I have always known that I have been somewhat of a tense individual even when I am relaxing, but these brought to my attention that it can be unhealthy in the long run. The personality test brought to my attention that these things may increase my risk of cardiovascular disease, which has always been a huge concern of mine.

Now that the importance of this has come to my concern, I have been looking into helpful stress management tools and things I can do in order to reduce this tension. These tools can consist of exercise, positive self-talk, sharing my stress, and trying to keep a positive attitude. All of these things can lower your heart rate and blood pressure, stabilizing your emotions and lowering stress. As I progress in my career and take on more stressful positions in life, it is important to make sure my well-being is in check, and I am using these tools to keep my stress as low as possible. This will not only benefit me in the moment, but will also lead to less long term struggles when it comes to stress and cardiovascular disease.

Many companies realize how much stress can affect their employees mentally and physcially, so they begin to implement programs in hopes to help. These consist of tools such as wellness programs, legal and interpersonal programs, and substance abuse programs.
