That definitely will change my feel of the company. In my own view, I think companies should treat people equally. People doesn’t have control on their ethnicity, ethnicity should not be a reason to be discriminated. On top of that, people have freedom to have their own culture or their own belief system. That is why that the world is so colorful and beautiful. That will change my decision on supporting them. I support them because I like them. I like their product and I want to support them for better products. However, the company doesn’t like everything about me. Why would I support them more? For that reason, the company has so many negative press in my mind. So, I will not work for them, even if they would like provide good benefit for me. I will feel constrained when working in that company.
Instead of the reason, I want to provide the news which happened a few weeks ago. I am an international student from China. Xinjiang is a beautiful province on the northwest side of China. There are many countries that keep spreading negative news about Xinjiang Province without any evidence, like the government punishing people working for them. Following that, many clothes companies state that they are going to stop using cotton from Xinjiang Province without investigating. It was led by H&M. I am not a fan of H&M but I am a fan of the other brand which was involved in this news too. I think it is very similar to the scenario of the assignment. Many companies are discriminating against products from my home country. I was feeling really bad about that. The news was heated up in China and became one of the hottest topics in Chinese social media. H&M and some other companies made some apologies after a few days, but they can not get my trust any more.
