Week 8 Blog

I have a good friend that has had a tough history with jobs and maintaining them over the past few years. He is a very smart kid who has a finance degree from University of Oregon. He has found quite a few jobs already in his short few years out of school, but he has failed to maintain one of those jobs for longer then 4 months. I talk to him a lot and he seems to feel like he was not compensated enough at any of his jobs and he wasn’t making enough money to stay there without getting some type of raise. I was quite confused because normally most people dont start out making a ton of money, but I did understand at one of his jobs he was working for an insurance company and he did not make a dime for the first two months. I think it would be hard for me to stay at a job I wasn’t getting paid for. He did know it was a commission based job, but still not making any money for over a month of work seems a bit far fetched for me to stay working. There are multiple ways you can think of compensation, but the main one people think of is money. In todays world you cant have enough of it, so if there is ways like taking a new job, many would jump at that opportunity to be compensated more. I understand looking for the highest paying and compensating job even if it takes time or tough decisions to find it.
