Dr. Jason H. Ideker<\/strong> is a Professor in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University and Provost Fellow for Academic Year 2026. He joined the faculty in September of 2008. Ideker received his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin in May of 2008 in Civil Engineering. He also holds an M.S.E. from The University of Texas at Austin (2004) and a B.S.C.E. from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia (2002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His primary research interests are alkali-silica reaction in cement-based materials, performance of calcium aluminate cement-based systems, concrete durability and early-age properties of concrete. He has a keen interest in achievable sustainability through materials selection. Teaching materials science of concrete, concrete durability and green building materials courses to undergraduates and graduates is also an important focus for Ideker. He is heavily involved in ACI and ASTM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason is Editor-in-Chief of CEMENT<\/a> and Co-Editor-in-Chief of ASTM’s Advances in Civil Engineering Materials<\/a>. He is chairs RILEM TC 301<\/a> Risk assessment of concrete mixture designs with alkali-silica reactive (ASR) aggregates. He is a lead Author of Chapter 12 Calcium Aluminate Cement’s in the 5th Edition of Lea’s Chemistry of Cement and Concrete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ideker works to bridge fundamental scientific research with real-world engineering solutions. He was one of the organizers of the 14th ICAAR Conference held in Austin, Texas in May of 2012. Dr. Ideker and Dr. Karen Scrivener started the Corvallis Workshop Series in 2011 to bring a premiere technical conference back to the field of cement-based materials (similar to the former Gordon Conference Series. In 2026 this Conference will be located in Medell\u00edn, Colombia: “Knowledge Transfer and Expertises: A multi-sector dialogue to enhance the use of construction and demolition waste (CDW) in the circular economy\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
