Hello, my name is Yamam Jamal and I was born and raised in Southern California. I remember using a computer at the very young age of 8 years old playing games on windows 98. Some interests of mine include going to the gym, playing basketball, video games and of course coding. After pursuing my first degree in Mechanical Engineering and working as an engineer, I decided to make a career switch in hopes to find passion in the workplace. My journey with OSU began in winter 2022 exactly two years ago and I am so excited for this to be my last and start my career in software/tech!
I wish I can know all the new technologies and stacks but for now my goal is to become moderate to advanced in Python, SQL/Databases, JavaScript & React, C++ I also would like to strengthen my skills in cloud technology such as AWS. Python because I want to involve myself in Data Science and AI technology (pytorch, tensorflow, neural networks, etc.), Javascript & React to become a full stack developer for websites and apps, C++ (for my personal hobbies in game development in hopes to one day potentially work for a game studio as a software engineer (a dream job)). I know the journey ahead wont be short and you know what they say, it’s not a race it’s a marathon!
