Week 7 – Blog Post: IPIP Results & Reactions 

Extroversion: I score average in extroversion and am neither a total introverted loner nor an extremely extroverted talker. You enjoy spending time with others as well as time alone. I may show some energy and positive emotions in social situations but also need a certain amount of personal space and independent time.

Pleasantness: I score high on the Pleasantness scale, showing a strong interest in the needs and well-being of others. I am a pleasant, compassionate, and cooperative person who is willing to give to the benefit of others and maintain social harmony.

Due Diligence: I score average on Due Diligence, indicating that I am fairly reliable, organized, and self-controlled. I may tend to stick to a plan, pay attention to details, and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Neuroticism: I scored average on the Neuroticism scale, meaning that my level of emotional response is similar to the general population. When faced with stressful and frustrating situations, I am usually able to adapt and cope but can be a little frustrated. It may be easier for me to regain my composure and take appropriate action to resolve the problem.

Openness: I score low on openness, showing that I tend to think in a simple and straightforward way. I may be more practical and pragmatic and am perceived as down-to-earth, pragmatic, and conservative. I may prefer the traditional and familiar and may be less interested in novel and abstract concepts.

Strengths:

Social skills: I enjoy spending time with others, but also have the ability to be alone. This means you can get along well in a team environment and have the ability to handle tasks independently.

Cooperative and pleasant: I have a keen interest in the needs and well-being of others and am willing to give of myself for the benefit of others. This makes me a pleasant, compassionate, and cooperative team player.

Dependability and Self-Control: I score average in the Due Diligence category, indicating that I am a reliable, organized, and self-controlled person. This makes me a trustworthy employee who is able to stay on schedule and stay productive.

Disadvantages:

Less open-minded: I tend to think in a simple and straightforward way, being more practical and pragmatic. This may lead you to be less interested in novel and abstract concepts and may be relatively weak in work environments that require innovation and flexibility.

The average level of emotional responsiveness: I score average on the neuroticism scale, meaning that I am usually able to adapt and cope when faced with stressful and frustrating situations, but can be somewhat frustrated. This may require you to strengthen your emotional management and stress-coping skills.
Overall, my strengths as a potential employee are my social skills, cooperativeness, reliability, and self-control. This makes me an employee who adapts to a team environment, is willing to work with others, and remains productive. However, you may need to focus on remaining open in jobs that require innovation and flexibility, and further enhance your ability to manage emotions and cope with stress.
