Because I started this assignment with not a lot of time before another class was about to start, I took the shorter personality test. I have taken the extremely long personality tests in high school before, but it was fun to be able to take one again to see if much has changed. My results were as expected, as I scored low in extraversion and agreeableness, but scored higher in neuroticism, conscientiousness, and openness to experience. I thought this was fitting because I am definitely one that doesn’t like to be around large crowds and prefer to stick to myself, but also enjoy nature and adventuring and art and things like that.
I believe a future employer would be really happy to see that I am open to new experiences. I think this shows a willingness to learn new things and to not be afraid to challenge myself in the workplace. I think having someone like that on a team in a work environment is helpful and can be an effective way of leading by example. Consciousness is another good one for employers to see, because the description of this characteristic explains setting goals and being a determined individual, which is a very effective and efficient way to be when getting work done. Consciousness had another great description from the personality test. It described these types of people as disciplined and hardworking as well, some more strong characteristics that employers would be excited about. If an employer was looking at me based on these personality tests, I would hope they would be able to accept my weaknesses to bring aboard my strengths, but it ultimately depends on the work environment and the job position itself. On the other hand, employers might like to see a higher score for extroversion. A low score in this might make employers thinks I am unwilling to be a leader and will not do well in certain circumstances where I have to work in groups.
