International HRM

By:Lucas Christen

After conducting research as well as doing a term abroad at the beginning of the year I can confidently say I would definitely accept an opportunity abroad. I loved living in another country and I think it would be a great opportunity for my career growth. The few countries that I would love to live in are the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. I have visited each of these countries and would be able to relate to the culture and the people very well. My first choice would be Switzerland because I have family that lives there as well as I can relate to their culture the most other than the United States. One of the major factors that I would consider when moving to another country is the time I will spend in this new country. I wouldn’t want to spend the rest of my life in another country but would love to spend 3-5 years. Another one of the major factors that I would consider when moving to another country would be the type of work and the language in which the work was being done. The language barrier is very difficult sometimes and I would prefer to work in a country where the majority speaks English. Another smaller factor That I would consider when moving to another country is the social culture and the food culture. These two aspects are huge parts of my life and if the new country can’t provide that for me then I would reconsider how long I would actually live there for. But overall I would definitely work in another country and it has been a huge goal of mine for some time now and I’m hoping I can pursue this goal in the future.
