{"id":852,"date":"2014-09-02T09:34:47","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T16:34:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/inspire\/?p=852"},"modified":"2014-09-02T09:37:37","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T16:37:37","slug":"can-revisit-revise-multimedia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/inspire\/2014\/09\/02\/can-revisit-revise-multimedia\/","title":{"rendered":"We can revisit and revise multimedia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/inspire\/files\/2014\/01\/fw312-silhouette.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-861\" alt=\"fw312-silhouette\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/inspire\/files\/2014\/01\/fw312-silhouette-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Recently, we added 24 new birds to this &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/silhouette\/FW312BirdSilhouette.html\">silhouette shape recognition<\/a>&#8221; interactive for FW312.<br \/>\nThis was the 3rd time we expanded this interactive tool, and it serves as a nice reminder that Ecampus can continue to help improve your course materials year after year.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In 2013 we created a series of labeling tools (<a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/FW312-Matching01.html\">1<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/FW312-Matching02.html\">2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/FW312-Matching03.html\">3<\/a>), family classification tools (<a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/trees\/fw312-week5.html\">5<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/trees\/fw312-week6.html\">6<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/trees\/fw312-week7.html\">7<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/trees\/fw312-week8.html\">8<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/trees\/fw312-week9.html\">9<\/a>), and a <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/fw312\/exercises\/fw312Memory.html\">beak memory game<\/a> for this class. Each of those projects remains exactly as we left them, but the silhouette shape recognition tool has been revisited and improved on three different occasions.<\/p>\n<p>How do these minor updates work? Well, the tool was created in such a way that the process is very simple and fast :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the instructor or TA can just use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/imghp?hl=en&amp;tab=wi&amp;ei=AfnfUvqyMKr4igL9zYGIBA&amp;ved=0CAQQqi4oAg\">Google image search<\/a> to find the exact birds they want,<\/li>\n<li>they email us a list containing a couple dozen links to these google images.<\/li>\n<li>We then draw a detailed cartoon based on each link,<\/li>\n<li>and finally we then add them all into the Flash project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The whole process takes about a week, and we&#8217;re happy to offer this sort of update service whenever we&#8217;re asked.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, we added 24 new birds to this &#8220;silhouette shape recognition&#8221; interactive for FW312.
