Training Techniques

Reflecting on the training I have taken in my past both in jobs and classes there has been a variety of different techniques that are used. I have found some techniques that I like and some that I am not a fan of.

In regards to the training techniques that I have found I like best are those that allowed communication, and team building as well as those that allowed strategic thinking. In a lot of my classes and internships, have been team-oriented. These two types of training are interpersonal and problem-solving as well as developmental and career. I felt both of these two types prepared me well and were related to my internship or classes. A method that I liked was the hands on as well as group building. In regards to hands on, I am a person that learns through experiences. In regards to group building I have found hearing what my peers or others teach me a lot of building is what I have done a lot in classes that have teams as well as in my internship I had.

The one that I did not like as much was a class that was only lecture material. It was extremely difficult to learn due to the lack of different training. In this class, there were also no expectations or guidelines when it came to assignments because the professor believed we should be able to figure it out on our own by now. I understood why they said that however, it left the students not sure of what our duties or expectations were in order to succeed. If this was a job it would have left us to make lots of errors that could have led to some serious issues. Making sure you are aware of the expectations through trainings is necessary for the most success. The lecture management system here did not work in a way that I understood my training and expectations.

Overall, I have learned how to handle when there is a lack of training and when I have found training that creates a learning environment for growth. Being able to adapt to both and learn has helped me a lot when faced with different training and learning styles.
