This week I wanted to write about my current Capstone project. We are close to our mid point in the term so this would be a decent time to discuss our initial approach, how its doing now, my experience, and what changed so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our project is to create a Travel Log App where people can create a post on places they’ve traveled to and submit information such as things they liked, attractions they visited, transportation advice, safety tips, recommendations etc. with a free text area. We planned on using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Nodejs) which is pretty popular at the moment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We had to cut back in a decent amount of features as we were unfamiliar with the tech stack. We thought we would be up and running after a week or two of reading articles, documentation, and videos but we are still struggling a good bit on basic functionalities. It isn’t a problem but definitely something we should’ve expected. We also were pretty ambitious with the features we wanted and they aren’t fancy but because all 3 of us were inexperience, we felt it was better to focus on core functionalities than try to do too much and have it not work at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
