Hello!
My name is Masud and I am a senior at Oregon State studying computer science. I’ve always loved technology growing up and often times found myself sitting at the computer for hours on end. I played endless games using emulators or worked on creating my own websites using something like Freewebs.com. Once YouTube launched, I found myself creating videos on a long lost channel back in the day.
Life took me through multiple different routes such as Biology and Medicine, but I eventually came back to technology by working in IT. However, I have always been interested in creating my own applications and how games like Halo: Combat Evolved worked. Also, I didn’t want to be in a dead-end job and after a little thinking/research, I eventually found and enrolled at OSU’s ecampus late in 2018. I faced a few bumps and hurdles which stopped me from attending classes, but I re-enrolled in late 2020 and am now a senior at OSU finishing up my last few courses.
The ride has been challenging but enjoyable, and I’ve made a few new friends up to today. I hope to take everything I’ve learned and be able to get a position as a Software Engineer/Dev at a successful company. My goal company would be Nintendo, not as a game developer but in some form of software development.
Outside of school, I enjoy training martial arts! I’ve trained in Karate and earned my black belt in 2013. I’m currently training in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Grappling has never been my forté but I’m slowly getting better and learning! Transitioning from Karate to Muay Thai has also been a challenge, as they have similarities but still quite different styles. One of my personal goals is to start fighting in tournaments/bouts again, which may come to pass in the next few months!
Well, that is it for this post. Thank you for taking the time to read and stay tuned for more!
