Great Places to Work

Year after year, Great Place to Work publicizes “Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For”. In 2020, the number one place to work was Hilton. 95% of Hilton’s employees say this is a great place to work. That is 38% more satisfaction than a typical company which scores 57%. This survey highlighted that employees have a high regard for management and view them as honest and ethical in the way business is done within the company.

Throughout researching further the next two companies I looked into were American Express which was rated number nine and Capital One which was ranked number 24. American Express scored 92% on employees saying this is a great place to work. They also stated American Express values their employees in the workplace and their personal life. Employees also state American Express management is honest and ethical in how they do business. Capital One also scored a 92% on employees say it is a great place to work. Capital One values people and a work life balance which is very valued to employees.

If I were selected as the manager how my role in the HR function. I would focus on how HR adds value to employees and how employees add value to the company. I would look at the company’s strengths and weaknesses and see how they can be improved. I would then implement strategies that human resource management can help employees as well as the company and customers. Making employees feel valued and that their work. I would give each section of the company employees goals that they can achieve and see their work is valued.

The kind of manager I would be is one who looks at past information and facts before moving forward. Learning from what has worked and what has not in the past is vastly important to not make the same mistakes. The next step I would take would be to implement a strategy that would improve employee satisfaction along with customer satisfaction. In all of the companies I looked at they all valued personal connections along with achieving goals for the company and themselves. Giving employees the resources and information they need to do their job successfully is something I would put emphasis on as well as finding ways that I can add benefits to their successes.
