Managing Stress

Taking the Life Stress Inventory, Coping and Stress Management Skills Test, and Type A Personality Survey taught me a lot about how I handle stress. The results showed I have a moderate stress level and prefer to manage it through problem solving. However, the Type A Personality Survey pointed out traits like impatience and a tendency to overwork, which can add to stress when I’m under pressure.

To manage stress better as I move forward in my career, I plan to focus on a few simple steps. One is improving how I manage my time by staying organized and breaking big tasks into smaller ones. Another is giving myself time to recharge, whether that’s taking a short walk, practicing mindfulness, or just stepping away for a moment. I also want to get better at asking for help when needed instead of trying to do everything myself.

When I looked into how organizations handle stress, I found that many are introducing wellness programs. These include things like access to mental health support, flexible schedules, fitness benefits, and even mindfulness sessions at work. Companies are recognizing that when employees are less stressed, they work better and feel better.

Stress is something everyone deals with, but it’s important to learn how to manage it in ways that work for you. By building better habits and using resources available at work, I can create a more balanced and healthier approach to stress. It’s good to see that more organizations are stepping up to help their employees do the same.
