Stress Management in the Workplace

Life Stress Inventory- Score: 197

According to my Life Stress score, I am have a 50% chance of a major mental breakdown in the next two years. This score and what it implies honestly shocked me, as I did not feel that they list full encapsulates what brings me stress, especially in my personal life. This measure was very interesting to me, given there were only three categories you could be divided into. It feels as though one’s susceptibility to a mental breakdown would have a lot more contributing factors, such as coping mechanisms.

Coping and Stress Management Skills Test- Score: 69

According to the results of this test, I tend to use problem solving tactics when in a crisis. I tend to take charge of a situation, because being in control helps me to feel useful in the event of an issue. This score made sense to me, as I do feel I can get overwhelmed when things go wrong, but I can also act with a clear head.

Type A Personality Test- Score: 38

The Type A test results did not surprise me one bit. I have never once considered myself Type A in my work, but I do like things organized and planned in advance. The results began with the idea that I bring warmth and comfort into my relationships, but I can also have a short fuse and get upset easily, and I would say this is very much the case.
