Should I address that in my cover letter when I apply for positions in my new field?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Changing from one career to another is very common \u2013 U.S. workers report having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/nls\/questions-and-answers.htm#anch41\">12 or more jobs<\/a> in their lifetime, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.edx.org\/edx-survey-finds-1-3-americans-ages-25-44-completely-changed-fields-since-starting-first-job-post-college\">career change survey<\/a> from online education platform EdX found that nearly one-third of U.S. workers have completely changed their career field since graduating from college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re a student gaining a new degree or credential at Oregon State and hope to take your career in a new direction when you graduate, you&#8217;re probably wondering: <strong>should I bring my career change up in my cover letter?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A: Yes!
