TODAY! <\/strong>Winter Undergraduate Research Showcases<\/strong>
Curious about what Honors College students are researching? Join us for the Winter HC Undergraduate Research Showcases \u2014 dynamic online events where students present their thesis research in short, lightning-style talks. These showcases offer a glimpse into the wide range of topics our students explore and are a great way to get inspired, learn about research opportunities and connect with fellow students and faculty. After the presentations, stick around for breakout rooms with Q&A and conversation. All students, faculty, families and friends are welcome! Want a break from your studying? Join HCSA for a fun night full of board games, trivia, and battles of the brain on Friday, February 6th from 5:00-7:00 pm in LInC 343<\/strong>. NEW! <\/strong>Financial Readiness with CAFE<\/strong>
Join the Honors College for “Caf\u00e9 con CAFE,” a financial wellness event! CAFE, the Center for Advancing Financial Education, is a free resource for students that provides support and education on resources and information to navigate college and make sound financial decisions. At this event, students will be learning the basics of building their own budget, that can be applied in many ways, from their meal plan to their tuition bill and everything in between! This event will take place on February 9th from 4-5pm in LINC 345<\/strong>. Students are encouraged to bring something to write with and on, have a general idea of their personal finances (or, at least the ones they want to build a budget for!). Dean and Friends events are unique to the Honors College and are opportunities for current honors students to connect with alumni and other external supporters about different career paths and professional topics. For this Dean and Friends event, William will lead a discussion on the theme, \u201cBalancing Values and Career Goals.\u201d For those attending this event in person, coffee and snacks will be provided, and space is limited. NEW! <\/strong>1st<\/sup> Annual Cascadia Classic Ballroom Competition!<\/strong>
Come out to support your peers and witness the wonderful world of competitive collegiate ballroom! Dancesport at OSU is hosting its first-ever Cascadia Classic ballroom competition. Dancers levels newcomer (who have only been dancing a few months) through champion (some of the best collegiate dancers in the western US) will be vying for first place in their categories on February 21st, Saturday of week 7.<\/strong> Come by the Women’s Building for an action-packed day of dance! NEW! <\/strong>Free Tax Help Night for Honors College Students<\/strong>
Need help filing your taxes? Oregon State University\u2019s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is hosting a Special Tax Night for Honors College students on March 4th from 5:30pm-7:30pm in LINC 343 and 345. During this session, trained, IRS-certified volunteers will guide you step-by-step as you complete your own tax return and answer any questions you may have along the way.
This service is completely free and designed to help students feel confident filing their taxes and claiming the credits they\u2019re eligible for. Space is limited, so advance registration is encouraged. Students must register for this event.  Sign up here<\/a>.

Participants Needed for Honors Thesis Study<\/strong>
College-aged women at Oregon State University are invited to participate in a research study examining health literacy, breast cancer prevention, and self-efficacy. Participants may be invited to complete a one-on-one interview and will receive a $20 eGift card for their time. To determine eligibility, please complete a brief survey here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants Needed for Paid Research Study<\/strong>
OSU researchers are seeking participants for a study on automation in air traffic control. The study requires 3.5\u20135 hours across two days, and participants will be compensated $20\/hour. Submit Academic & Creative Works to UMN Honors Publication, Aisthesis by March 6, 2026<\/strong>
University of Minnesota Duluth’s Honors Program is currently seeking academic and creative submissions for the 2026 issue of Aisthesis, its undergraduate honors journal. As an interdisciplinary publication, Aisthesis welcomes academic work\u2014including honors capstone projects, literature reviews, and research articles\u2014from all fields. Creative submissions of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and visual art (including but not limited to painting, sculpture, short film, multimedia, and photography) are also encouraged. If you are hoping to build your resume, share your work, and publish as an undergraduate, this is a great opportunity to do so! Submit by March 6, 2026<\/strong>. Survey for Honors Thesis Seeking Participants<\/strong>
Megan is a senior in the Honors College looking for students to participate in the study for her thesis. We would like to hear your perspective in a 30-minute survey<\/a>. You will be asked questions about how well you feel you fit in at Oregon State. All of your answers will be kept confidential.
To be eligible to participate, you must: Be an OSU student; Be 18 years old or older; Communicate in English.

Join the Honors College Association (HCSA) for weekly club meetings! HCSA is a student-led club that plans activities for Honors College students. HCSA puts together social events, academic events, professional development events, and more. Join HCSA and help make great events happen! The Honors College Student Association holds general meetings every Monday from 5-6:00 p.m. in LInC 343<\/strong>. If you are an Ecampus student and you are ever interested in attending virtually, please email HCSA at honorshcsa@oregonstate.edu<\/a> or contact the Honors College office directly for more information and to get a zoom link. Attend Winter Honors College Community Coffee in the SLUG<\/strong>
All Honors College students, faculty and staff are invited to enjoy coffee, conversation and snacks at the winter term Honors College Community Coffee, on Wednesday, February 11 from 8:30 – 11 a.m. in the SLUG (LInC 340)<\/strong>. At this HC3, you\u2019ll have the opportunity to learn about National and Global Scholarships Advising, an OSU advising resource that supports undergraduate and graduate students and alumni who wish to explore nationally competitive scholarships. You\u2019ll also have the opportunity to learn about Design for Social Impact, a multidisciplinary, project-driven initiative that connects students, faculty and community partners to tackle real-world challenges through design-thinking and hands-on solutions.
