He has collaborated with design professionals and community leaders to create art works to honor individuals, places, communities and events at locations across the world. His most recent work was a waterfront park on the Columbia River in Vancouver, Washington, completed in 2018, and he is currently creating a Peace Corps Commemorative Park adjacent to the U.S. Capitol. He has extensive work on public art selection and review panels, as well, and has written several art master plans. For his work, he\u2019s received a fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts and alumni recognition from Oregon State University. Larry graduated from the Oregon State University honors program that preceded the current Honors College with a degree in art. For this special Dean and Friends lunch conversation, Larry will discuss the collaborations between engineers, construction managers, artisans, researchers, writers, landscape architects, architects, lighting designers, and more that have been behind his projects, focusing on selected examples. Since 2004, Global Brigades has mobilized tens of thousands of university students and professionals through skill-based programs that work in partnership with community members, improving the quality of life in under-resourced regions while respecting local cultures. Inspiring, mobilizing, and collaborating with communities to achieve their own health and economic goals, Global Brigades hosts medical clinics and economic development programs in Honduras, Panama, Ghana, Guatemala, Greece, and Belize. Our Oregon State chapter will be working in Guatemala during <strong>Winter Break, December 14-20, 2025<\/strong>.
