TODAY! <\/strong>HCSA Krispy Kreme Fundraiser<\/strong>
Join the HCSA in raising funds for the Linn Benton Food Share by purchasing Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! One doughnut is $2, and a dozen is $20. Order your doughnuts at this form<\/a>, it will be open until March 7th at noon. Doughnut pickup will be on Monday, March 10th, from 12-5 p.m.<\/strong> on the first floor of the LInC<\/strong>.

Join HCSA and RHA on Fri, Mar. 14 at 11 p.m.<\/strong> for Midnight Breakfast! This event will be hosted in Sackett E\/H and F\/G lounges, and the West Main Lounge<\/strong>. Open to all students, come enjoy pancakes with lots of delicious toppings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW THIS WEEK! Redeem your Explorevallis passport!<\/strong>
Explorevallis was a campaign led by the Honors College and a passport-style program where students could connect with local businesses and communities in the area. Students who participated in the program can bring their stamped passport back to the HC office, in LInC 450<\/strong>, any time this week to be entered to win a prize for participating. Make sure to leave your name and OSU email on the packet so we can contact you. Thanks to those who participated and thanks for supporting small businesses!

Submit Creative Works to WSU Honors Publication, The Palouse Review<\/strong>
Have you ever wanted to submit your work to a literary arts journal? Now is your chance! The Palouse Review, an online Honors publication at Washington State University, is seeking Honors students who would like their work published in their upcoming editions. They publish a wide variety of original work by Honors students, including scholarship, creative writing, visual art, and music. Submit Creative Works to the NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Activity<\/strong>
UReCA: The NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Activity welcomes your research and creative submissions before June 1<\/strong>. UReCA is sponsored by the National Collegiate Honors Council, and is currently managed, edited and produced by a team of twenty-nine undergraduate students from each of the NCHC regions and a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. NEW THIS WEEK! <\/strong>Art and Culture in China<\/u><\/strong>
The Art and Culture in China Program is an immersive educational experience designed to deepen students’ understanding and appreciation of China’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. The program’s academic goals focus on exploring both historical and contemporary aspects of Chinese art, including painting, calligraphy, sculpture, and architecture, as well as traditional and modern cultural practices. The program lasts from June 18-29<\/strong>. Apply for the program by Sat, Mar. 15<\/strong>. You will earn 3 credits as Art 208 (Bacc Core- Cultural Diversity). Scholarship & Financial Aid Opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

THIS WEEK! Honors College Differential Tuition Scholarship Opens March 15th<\/strong>
The Honors College recognizes that paying the differential tuition associated with HC enrollment can present a significant challenge. The Honors College Differential Tuition Scholarship is designed to make sure that students who are fully engaged with their HC education are not forced to withdraw due to the cost of enrollment in the college. Supported by donations from the Honors College community, Differential Tuition Scholarships are for $750-$1,560 for one academic year. The application for 2025-2026 Differential Tuition Scholarships will open Sat, Mar. 15<\/strong>. The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. on Mon, Apr. 14<\/strong>. All students who wish to be considered for a 2025-2026 continuing student scholarship in the Honors College should apply to the Differential Tuition Scholarship through ScholarDollars. Only returning and continuing Honors College students who are making progress toward completion of Honors College degree requirements are eligible to receive a scholarship. MACO Student Award applications now open<\/strong>
Marine and Coastal Opportunities (MACO) is pleased to announce the 2025 MACO Student Awards<\/a>. These awards recognize and reward OSU undergraduate students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and pursuits consistent with the transdisciplinary, collaborative, experiential learning and outreach vision and mission of MACO. To advance understanding of the complex social, cultural, historical, and economic nature of the marine environment, preference will be given to students studying these human dimensions of the coasts and ocean. Up to $500 per award, current OSU undergraduate students may apply for this scholarship. The application deadline is Mar. 31<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honors College Emergency Grant<\/strong>
The Honors College Emergency Grant<\/a> supports students facing unexpected expenses, including housing, meals, course materials, healthcare, vehicle repairs, and travel for family emergencies. Grants are up to $500 per term, with a limit of two grants during your time in the HC. Honors College differential tuition is not covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HC Experiential Learning Scholarship<\/u><\/strong>
The Honors College Experiential Learning Scholarship supports student engagement in the honors thesis (thesis proposal required), attendance at professional or academic conferences, payment of non-tuition fees associated with honors courses, or participation in an honors study abroad program. Applications are reviewed based on need, and the maximum award is $750. See here<\/a> for additional information. Applications can be submitted through ScholarDollars and evaluated on a rolling basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THIS WEEK! NSF-DoD Summer 2025 Research Site at UCF: HYPER is Seeking Applicants<\/strong>
The University of Central Florida, in collaboration with the National Science Foundation and Department of Defense’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (NSF-DOD REU) Sites program, is seeking students for summer 2025 to participate in the Advanced Technologies for Hypersonic, Propulsive, Energetic, and Reusable Platforms (HYPER) program. HYPER addresses challenges in aerospace travel and energy production, advancing the fundamental knowledge needed to overcome technical barriers limiting hypersonic flight. The 10-week program will be held this summer from May 18 \u2013 July 25, 2025<\/strong>. Participants will gain hands-on research training in challenges such as: utilizing advanced manufacturing techniques for high-value components, developing novel methods for improved internal cooling and heat transfer effectiveness, and mitigating flutter through advanced rotor dynamic control. Many of these challenges rely on approaches that cut across disciplines and research techniques. Each HYPER REU participant will receive a summer stipend of $6,000, on-campus housing, and a travel allowance to and from Orlando, Florida. OSU Student Energy Analyst Position<\/strong>
Would you be interested in an on-campus job working with industry clients to reduce energy use and improve productivity, while applying what you are learning in your classes? The OSU Energy Efficiency Center (EEC) is looking for motivated student energy\/technical analysts to work part-time during the school year (10-15 hrs\/week) and during the summer (30-40 hrs\/week).<\/strong> The OSU EEC offers comprehensive, student-led, on-site energy and productivity assessments to small and medium-sized manufacturers through a US Department of Energy funded program. Student teams advised by engineering faculty visit manufacturers and seek ways to increase their productivity and reduce energy use and waste. These engineering analyses and improvement recommendations are compiled into a report and delivered to the client. University Legislative Scholars Applications Open<\/strong>
The University Legislative Scholars (ULS) program offers a year-long opportunity to engage with public policy at the state and federal levels. Students can join tuition-free or for two credits per term. Participants meet with legislators, learn about government careers, visit the State Capitol, and build connections with peers. Scholarships are available. All majors are encouraged to apply, with a focus on underrepresented and STEM students. The Basic Needs Center (BNC)<\/a> has a Textbook Lending Library open to all on-campus students that includes books, calculators, chemistry model sets, and more.
