NEW! Understanding the Leader in You Workshop<\/strong>
Join the Honors College for a values and strengths-based leadership workshop, part of the HC Leadership Perspective Series, presented in partnership with Community Engagement and Leadership. Through interactive activities and a \u201cTrue Colors\u201d personality test, you\u2019ll gain insights into your leadership strengths and core values, and how to bring those pieces of yourself into your work and relationships. This will take place on Sun. Feb. 23 from<\/strong> 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., with check-in from 8-8:30 in LInC 343<\/strong>. NEW! Support Small Businesses with the HC<\/strong>
Looking to explore more of Corvallis? Join the Honors College in a passport-style program, connecting with local businesses and communities in the area! Students can pick up a booklet of participating businesses from the Honors College office in LInC 450 from Mon. Feb. 24 – Mon. Mar. 10<\/strong>, and when they visit participating businesses with their booklet and student ID, they will get a discount for shopping small, and a stamp in their booklet. At the end of the program, students can then bring their booklet back to the Honors College office in LInC 450 and we will select a participating winner! NEW! <\/strong>Future Career Planning Seminar with Dr. Frederic Bahnson<\/u><\/strong>

NEW! <\/strong>Submit Academic & Creative Works to UMN Honors Publication, Aisthesis<\/u><\/strong>
University of Minnesota (UMN) Duluth’s Honors Program is currently seeking academic and creative submissions for the 2025 issue of Aisthesis, our undergraduate honors journal. As an interdisciplinary publication, we welcome academic work, including honors capstone projects, literature reviews, and research articles, from all fields of research. Creative submissions of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and visual art (including but not limited to painting, sculpture, short film, multimedia, and photography) are also encouraged. If you are hoping to build your resume, share your work, and publish as an undergraduate, this is the perfect opportunity for you! The submission deadline is Mar. 5<\/strong>. Submit Creative Works to WSU Honors Publication, The Palouse Review<\/strong>
Have you ever wanted to submit your work to a literary arts journal? Now is your chance! The Palouse Review, an online Honors publication at Washington State University, is seeking Honors students who would like their work published in their upcoming editions. They publish a wide variety of original work by Honors students, including scholarship, creative writing, visual art, and music. Submit Creative Works to the NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Activity<\/strong>
UReCA: The NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Activity welcomes your research and creative submissions before June 1<\/strong>. UReCA is sponsored by the National Collegiate Honors Council, and is currently managed, edited and produced by a team of twenty-nine undergraduate students from each of the NCHC regions and a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Dean and Friends Conversation \u2013 Careers in Education, from Classroom to Administration<\/u><\/strong>
All Honors College students are invited to a Dean and Friends conversation about careers in education, from classroom to administration, with Honors College alum Kristina Holton, \u201904, on Wed Mar. 5, from 4-5 p.m. PST<\/strong>. Kristina received her H.B.S. in mathematics and has also received an M.S. in mathematics educations and an Ed.D. in community college leadership, all from Oregon State University. She began her careers as a math teacher and instructional coach in K-12 education and then shifted to teaching at the community college level. She has since transitioned into administration, and she is currently the Dean of Science, Engineering and Mathematics at Linn-Benton Community College. At his event, she will share her career journey and answer questions about teaching at both K-12 and college levels and about shifting from teaching to administration. TODAY! Funded Opportunity for Undergrads through Oregon Sea Grant<\/strong>
The Oregon Sea Grant Scholars Program<\/a> is now accepting applications for the Summer Scholars Program, a paid 10-week program that places undergraduate students and students that graduated in the 2024-2025 academic year with a variety of Oregon based host organizations (Tribal, public agency, non-profit, non-governmental). Sites include in-person and remote opportunities. Students from around the country, and international students, are welcome to apply. Applications must be submitted by Mon.<\/strong>Feb. 17<\/strong>. NEW! MACO Student Award applications now open<\/strong>
Marine and Coastal Opportunities (MACO) is pleased to announce the 2025 MACO Student Awards<\/a>. These awards recognize and reward OSU undergraduate students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and pursuits consistent with the transdisciplinary, collaborative, experiential learning and outreach vision and mission of MACO. To advance understanding of the complex social, cultural, historical, and economic nature of the marine environment, preference will be given to students studying these human dimensions of the coasts and ocean. Up to $500 per award, current OSU undergraduate students may apply for this scholarship. The application deadline is Mar. 31<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honors College Emergency Grant<\/strong>
The Honors College Emergency Grant<\/a> supports students facing unexpected expenses, including housing, meals, course materials, healthcare, vehicle repairs, and travel for family emergencies. Grants are up to $500 per term, with a limit of two grants during your time in the HC. Honors College differential tuition is not covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HC Experiential Learning Scholarship<\/u><\/strong>
The Honors College Experiential Learning Scholarship supports student engagement in the honors thesis (thesis proposal required), attendance at professional or academic conferences, payment of non-tuition fees associated with honors courses, or participation in an honors study abroad program. Applications are reviewed based on need, and the maximum award is $750. See here<\/a> for additional information. Applications can be submitted through ScholarDollars and evaluated on a rolling basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Become an HC Representative at the Michigan Clinical Outcomes Research and Reporting (MCORRP) Program<\/strong>
Through a generous gift by Dr. Kim Eagle (HC grad \u201976), the Honors College is pleased to offer a paid internship with the Michigan Clinical Outcomes Research and Reporting Program (MCORRP<\/a>). This summer internship program is a 10-week opportunity, starting in early June and concluding in August, at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. The internship includes a stipend, as well as a housing and travel allowance. To apply students should be interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and be a strong steward of OSU and the Honors College. NEW! NSF-DoD Summer 2025 Research Site at UCF: HYPER is Seeking Applicants<\/strong>
The University of Central Florida, in collaboration with the National Science Foundation and Department of Defense’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (NSF-DOD REU) Sites program, is seeking students for summer 2025 to participate in the Advanced Technologies for Hypersonic, Propulsive, Energetic, and Reusable Platforms (HYPER) program. HYPER addresses challenges in aerospace travel and energy production, advancing the fundamental knowledge needed to overcome technical barriers limiting hypersonic flight. The 10-week program will be held this summer from May 18 \u2013 July 25, 2025<\/strong>. Participants will gain hands-on research training in challenges such as: utilizing advanced manufacturing techniques for high-value components, developing novel methods for improved internal cooling and heat transfer effectiveness, and mitigating flutter through advanced rotor dynamic control. Many of these challenges rely on approaches that cut across disciplines and research techniques. Each HYPER REU participant will receive a summer stipend of $6,000, on-campus housing, and a travel allowance to and from Orlando, Florida. Oregon Health and Science University Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program – Now Accepting Applications<\/strong>
OHSU PREP is a one-year, NIH-funded research intensive postbaccalaureate research program. The focus of OHSU PREP is to support the development of diverse postbac researchers in STEM and enhance their transition to a PhD program in biomedical research. Not only do we provide research experience and professional skill development, we also provide financial support in varying ways: A competitive research assistant salary and health benefits (approx. $39k\/year); Relocation support up to $1000; Professional development funds to support graduate school application fees, professional society memberships, online courses, technology, registration and attendance to one national conference, etc. Additional information, including signing up for one of our upcoming information sessions, can be found on our website<\/a>. OSU Student Energy Analyst Position<\/strong>
Would you be interested in an on-campus job working with industry clients to reduce energy use and improve productivity, while applying what you are learning in your classes? The OSU Energy Efficiency Center (EEC) is looking for motivated student energy\/technical analysts to work part-time during the school year (10-15 hrs\/week) and during the summer (30-40 hrs\/week).<\/strong> The OSU EEC offers comprehensive, student-led, on-site energy and productivity assessments to small and medium-sized manufacturers through a US Department of Energy funded program. Student teams advised by engineering faculty visit manufacturers and seek ways to increase their productivity and reduce energy use and waste. These engineering analyses and improvement recommendations are compiled into a report and delivered to the client. University Legislative Scholars Applications Open<\/strong>
The University Legislative Scholars (ULS) program offers a year-long opportunity to engage with public policy at the state and federal levels. Students can join tuition-free or for two credits per term. Participants meet with legislators, learn about government careers, visit the State Capitol, and build connections with peers.
