Honors College Dean and Friends conversations are opportunities for honors students to connect with Oregon State University alumni and friends in an informal setting and learn more about professional pathways and issues. Submit Creative Works to WSU Honors Publication, The Palouse Review<\/strong>
Have you ever wanted to submit your work to a literary arts journal? Now is your chance! The Palouse Review, an online Honors publication at Washington State University, is seeking Honors students who would like their work published in their upcoming editions. Submit Creative Works to the NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Activity<\/strong>
UReCA: The NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Activity welcomes your research and creative submissions before June 1<\/strong>. UReCA is sponsored by the National Collegiate Honors Council, and is currently managed, edited and produced by a team of twenty-nine undergraduate students from each of the NCHC regions and a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Dean and Friends Conversation \u2013 Careers in Education, from Classroom to Administration<\/u><\/strong>
All Honors College students are invited to a Dean and Friends conversation about careers in education, from classroom to administration, with Honors College alum Kristina Holton, \u201904, on Wed Mar. 5, from 4-5 p.m. PST<\/strong>. Kristina received her H.B.S. in mathematics and has also received an M.S. in mathematics educations and an Ed.D. in community college leadership, all from Oregon State University. She began her careers as a math teacher and instructional coach in K-12 education and then shifted to teaching at the community college level. She has since transitioned into administration, and she is currently the Dean of Science, Engineering and Mathematics at Linn-Benton Community College. At his event, she will share her career journey and answer questions about teaching at both K-12 and college levels and about shifting from teaching to administration. RSVP at beav.es\/GAS or on the HC app<\/strong>.

NEW TOMORROW! Intersections of Biodiversity and Buddhist Cultures in Nepal (Virtual info session)<\/strong>
Join faculty leaders Dee Denver and Rory McDonnell to learn more about this 8-week, 14-credit, faculty-led program in Nepal<\/a> from Oct. 15th-Nov. 17th, 2025. During this program, students will investigate a series of biology based questions while immersed in Nepal\u2019s Himalayan ecosystems and cultures. As a world leader in nature conservation efforts, Nepal has developed innovative management strategies that integrate social, cultural, and environmental approaches to balancing the needs of wildlife and humans. Students will investigate how biodiversity and Buddhist cultures come together through an immersive experience in the Gaurishankar Conservation Area of the Himalayas. Join an info session for this program on Zoom<\/a> on Tues, Feb. 11<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scholarship honors and recognizes OSU undergraduates who are community engaged leaders actively involved in activities beyond course work and who have demonstrated that they are committed to advancing a more caring, equitable, and socially just OSU and\/or local community. Apply via Scholar Dollars by<\/strong>Sat. Feb. 15<\/strong>. Six (6) students will be awarded a one-time scholarship in the amount of $2,000. The Oregon Sea Grant Scholars Program<\/a> is now accepting applications for the Summer Scholars Program, a paid 10-week program that places undergraduate students and students that graduated in the 2024-2025 academic year with a variety of Oregon based host organizations (Tribal, public agency, non-profit, non-governmental). Sites include in-person and remote opportunities. Students from around the country, and international students, are welcome to apply. Applications must be submitted by Mon.<\/strong>Feb. 17<\/strong>. Applicants can find additional resources and support materials on the OSG Application Resources page<\/a>. Honors College Emergency Grant<\/strong>
The Honors College Emergency Grant<\/a> supports students facing unexpected expenses, including housing, meals, course materials, healthcare, vehicle repairs, and travel for family emergencies. Grants are up to $500 per term, with a limit of two grants during your time in the HC. Honors College differential tuition is not covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HC Experiential Learning Scholarship<\/u><\/strong>
The Honors College Experiential Learning Scholarship supports student engagement in the honors thesis (thesis proposal required), attendance at professional or academic conferences, payment of non-tuition fees associated with honors courses, or participation in an honors study abroad program. Applications are reviewed based on need, and the maximum award is $750. See here<\/a> for additional information. Applications can be submitted through ScholarDollars and evaluated on a rolling basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truckin’ Tuesdays at the Memorial Union<\/u><\/strong>
Truckin\u2019 Tuesday is community event hosted by the Memorial Union Activities Team focused on bringing different types of foods to campus through food trucks! Most Tuesday’s there will be a variety of trucks next to the MU Quad open to students, staff, and the public. This is a chance for people of all ages on the OSU campus to try new foods, support local businesses, and add a little bit of sparkle to their Tuesdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Basic Needs Center (BNC)<\/a> has a Textbook Lending Library open to all on-campus students that includes books, calculators, chemistry model sets, and more. Visit their Textbook Lending Program website<\/a> <\/a>to see resources available at the BNC. Visit the BNC in-person at Champinefu Lodge to check out course materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Honors College main office in LInC 450 is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. HC staff is on hand during business hours to assist with questions, help with scheduling appointments or just chat and share some free candy. Honors College Advising Resources<\/strong>
<\/span>From guiding you through the thesis process, to monitoring and supporting your honors degree progress, your honors academic advising team is here to help! As a reminder, though you are only required to meet with your Honors College academic advisor once per year, feel free to meet with your HC academic advisor whenever you have questions.
