<\/span>This summer, incoming students will read Javier Zamora\u2019s gripping memoir, Solito. This is the story of Zamora\u2019s migration at age nine from El Salvador to the U.S. as an unaccompanied minor. We invite everyone to read this year\u2019s selection, and to that end we have provided copies of the book that you can check out at Valley Library Reserves (four copies in English and one in Spanish). <\/span>Interested in addressing climate change? Check out the Justice Challenge! Join honors students from universities across the United States in exploring the complex issues around food justice in the 2024-2025 academic year. Collaborating with experts from a variety of fields, you will engage with others to address real social needs and develop your capacity for civic engagement, innovation, and leadership. The program is open to a limited number of participants. Each student will enroll in an a nine-week online colloquium, and a 1-day concluding online conference. In addition, each student will participate in at least one of three signature experiences: a Design Challenge (semester-long course, in-person); a Hackathon (2-day, in person or online); or a Field Course (1 week, in-person).\u00a0Students may\u00a0nominate themselves<\/a>\u00a0or be nominated by a representative of their Honors college or program. Would you be interested in an on-campus job working with industry clients to reduce energy use and improve productivity, while applying what you are learning in your classes? The OSU Energy Efficiency Center (EEC) is looking for motivated student energy analysts to work part-time during the school year (10-20 hrs\/week) and during the summer (~40 hrs\/week). The OSU EEC offers comprehensive, student-led, on-site energy and productivity assessments to small and medium-sized manufacturers through a US Department of Energy funded program. Student teams advised by engineering faculty visit manufacturers and seek ways to increase their productivity and reduce energy use and waste.
