Hiram will discuss how poetry serves as a catalyst for addressing global hunger and food insecurity, highlighting the Poetry X Hunger initiative and his efforts to mobilize poets worldwide for social change. The OSU Energy Efficiency Center (EEC) is looking for motivated student energy analysts to work part-time during the school year (10-20 hrs\/week) and during the summer (~40 hrs\/week). The OSU EEC offers comprehensive, student-led, on-site energy and productivity assessments to small and medium-sized manufacturers through a US Department of Energy funded program. Student teams advised by engineering faculty visit manufacturers and seek ways to increase their productivity and reduce energy use and waste. <\/span>May 6-10th marks the 37th annual observance of Holocaust Memorial Week at Oregon State University. The centerpiece of this year’s program is a public talk by Eva Aigner, a local Holocaust survivor who, as a child, was confined to the Budapest ghetto and narrowly avoided execution.
